I spent the day in Portland. It was filled with rhythm, new friends, old friends, reading in cafes, giant french fries, photo walks, wandering the art museum, and salad for dinner.
I meet the most creative and interesting people every single time I go to CreativeMornings. I love them so much! Portland was perfect. Intisar & Amenta Abioto talked about rhythm and art. Amenta is the curator of the Black Artists of Oregon exhibit at the Portland Art Museum. Compassion filled her up. Beautiful quotes poured out of her. She talked about waves of time, how we can layer on to the different beats and rhythms in our lives, and that it’s possible to create a soft landing space for your consciousnesses in these dark times.
I met the organizer, the volunteers, the photographer, the videographer—they are all completely wonderful! I went to see the exhibit Amenta curated, and it was delightful to hear her voice again in the audio excerpts. I met up with a good friend for dinner and it felt like old times, waves of time.
So fun!
